Since "global warming" (or rather, CERN and HAARP) is making unprecedented, negative effects on worldwide weather patterns, being prepared for natural disasters has become a benchmark priority among preppers and survivalists, alike.
EARTHQUAKES:
This type of natural disaster is almost impossible to predict and warn the public in enough time to prepare. You don't have to feel helpless. Here is a list of things you can do to minimize the effects of an earthquake.
- Install shatterproof window film
- Have the foundation of your home checked for any weaknesses, repair if necessary
- Get earthquake insurance
- Have automatic shutoff valves placed on your utilities; electric, gas and water
- Double bolt heavy furniture, TVs and appliances to the walls
- Move beds away from windows and mirrors
FLOODING:
Whether it's a rainstorm, a hurricane or tsunami; flash floods and sudden rising waters are deadly. Several precautions must be taken which includes situational awareness that differs depending on the natural event. Sometimes a mandatory evacuation will be posted which entails knowing how to secure your home and planning an evacuation route, in advance, is essential.
