HOME DEFENSE $100

In this beginner's module, you will study the various types of firearms along with the varying types and corresponding forms of ammunition. Learn how to properly purchase a firearm and practice in an indoor shooting range. Learn how to respond to a thief found in your home and what to do in case of a home invasion. Learn how to navigate around your home by using stealth and cover techniques. Learn how not to make your home an easy target. Learn about security systems and video recording. Learn how to properly load and unload your firearm. Learn how to properly maintain and store your firearm. Learn how to teach your children about firearm safety. Learn how to legally protect yourself when defending your family and discharging your weapon.

This course has 8 hours of online instruction time, 2 hours of a live video assessment (one hour of range practice with targets at varying distances; one hour of maintenance, safety, storage and legal review), a mid-test and final test.

This course is available for all four quarters - year around.

URBAN TACTICAL TRAINING $120

This module is for intermediates who have experience with maintaining and storing a firearm and properly practice shooting still targets at an indoor range and want to gain tactical training that is more dynamic, realistic and situational. Learn situational awareness and what dangers to look out for in various public settings. Learn how to respond to an active shooter, robbery and other criminal situations. Learn urban warfare basics including the use of cover and evasion. Use an outdoor tactical firearm range and practice shooting at correct targets. Learn how to properly carry a firearm on-person and proper storage in a vehicle. Review gun safety basics. Learn the legal aspects of carrying a firearm and the possible legalities of crime scene involvement.

This course has 8 hours of online instruction time, 2 hours of a live video assessment, a mid-test and final test.

Module One is a PRE-REQUISITE

SMALL & BIG GAME HUNTING $160

This module is for intermediates who have experience with maintaining and storing a firearm and have had proper practice shooting still targets at an indoor or outdoor range. Learn which firearm is best for which wild game (including migratory birds and other small game as well as big game) to hunt along with the appropriate ammunition necessary for best results. Learn basic hunting skills including still hunting, stalking, flushing, trapping and shooting. Learn hunting safety. Learn good hunting ethics. Learn about different hunting seasons and various animal behavior you may observe while on a hunt. Learn conservation and which species to avoid in a hunt. Learn the various legal aspects of hunting.

This course has 12 hours of online instruction time, 2 hours of a live video hunting assessments, a mid-test and final test.

​

This course is available for Autumn and Winter quarters only.
