In this beginner's module, you will learn about basic survival skills when in a natural setting or outdoor environment. This includes creating various living structures from raw materials, how to gather select types of wood, how to firecraft and build various styles of campfires best suited for different climates and weather conditions and how to make a firewall. Learn how to forage for building materials and identify wild edibles. Learn to make primitive tools that assist in creating your shelter, gathering your wood and harvesting your wild edibles.

This course has 12 hours of online instruction time, 2 hours of a live video assessment, a foraging journal inspection, a mid-test and final test. Reading materials must be purchased in addition to the cost of the module, itself.

WATER & FOOD $200
This module is for intermediates who have some experience spending time in an outdoor environment and want to gain knowledge on various ways of harvesting water from natural resources, how to track the flow of water tributaries, how to filter and purify water using natural materials only and how to acquire food. Learn how to track wild animals. Learn how to trap small game. Learn how to fish and acquire bait from surrounding materials. Learn the basics to hunting with firearms and with a bow and arrow, dressing wild game and cooking on an open fire.

This course has 16 hours of online instruction time, 4 hours of live video assessments, a wild game journal inspection, a mid-test and final test. Reading materials must be purchased in addition to the cost of the module, itself.

CRISIS MITIGATION $160
This module is for intermediates who have some experience spending time in an outdoor environment and want to know how to correctly respond to emergency situations in the wilderness and mitigate any unforeseen challenges. Learn how to make primitive weapons for personal defense. Learn how to navigate yourself in the woods by using the natural elements. Learn about geocaching and how to store items safely for future use. Learn the various ways of signaling for help - visually and audibly. Learn wilderness first aid by using items commonly found in the woods and foraging for medicinals to minimize the effects of certain ailments until further assistance arrives.

This course has 12 hours of online instruction time, 4 hours of live video assessments, a mid-test and final test. Journaling is imperative for this course and there will be a journal inspection. Reading materials must be purchased in addition to the cost of the module, itself.

This course is available for all four quarters - year around.
